Updating drivers is an important part of maintaining a computer, but we usually don't bother with this operation until it's absolutely necessary. The main reason is that it's a tedious process, but with the right application, you can get it done in under a minute. A good example is Smart Driver Manager, which is capable of updating all your drivers, so you don't have to go through numerous web pages, download drivers and install them manually. Just click a button, and the software will take care of the rest.

You can try Smart Driver Manager for free, but you will encounter some restrictions. It works on all modern Windows systems, and it doesn't require any special tools to be installed. Also, the application doesn't use a significant amount of resources, so you can run it even on older machines.

The software comes with a tabbed user interface, on which you can start a scan, review your out-of-date drivers, back them up and make a few settings. Updating drivers is as simple as it can be. All you have to do is click a large Scan button, and the program will look at all your drivers and add everything that is out-of-date on a list. When the scanning process is complete, you can target all outdated drivers or pick individual items, after which you only need to click a button to update them.

The program always looks for the latest driver versions on the Internet, and it automatically downloads and installs them, which relieves you from navigating between numerous web pages, specifying your operating system type, downloading installing, rebooting and so on. You could grab a cup of tea, while Smart Driver Manager is doing all the work for you.

Another source of headaches is the process of installing all drivers on a freshly re-installed operating system. Fortunately, Smart Driver Manager can help you in this particular situation as well. You can use its backup feature to create copies of your drivers and store them in a safe place. Once you've reinstalled your operating system, you can install Smart Driver Manager again and restore your backed up drivers, which is much simpler than taking out your motherboard's CD and going online to look for video drivers.

If you have Smart Driver Manager installed on your computer, you will never have to worry about updating or reinstalling your drivers.

You can update all drivers on your system with a single click. The software can back up your drives and restore them, which is useful for when you need to re-install your operating system.

You can't update anything while using the trial version, which prevents a conclusive evaluation.
